On May 17, our team ran the distance to an exciting event. Over 70 Amusnet employees, along with their families and friends, gathered at the foot of Vitosha mountain near Zheleznitsa for an exciting charity run, ready to make a difference.
Our first-ever Amusnet Charity Run united us around an important cause. Set along a segment of the iconic Vitosha 100 trail, this 5.5-kilometre mountain course tested both stamina and spirit, but the mission kept us going strong: supporting the athletes of the Bulgarian Paralympics Association with a donation from Amusnet.
In spite of initial weather concerns, race day exceeded expectations with clear skies and optimal conditions. The course began with a 3-kilometer segment through quiet forest paths. The next kilometre brought the challenge - a steep 200-meter elevation climb through muddy trails and small streams. Despite the ticking timer, what stood out most was how colleagues supported each other, offering hands across slippery terrain and words of encouragement on the toughest climbs. This is the essence of the Amusnet spirit: teamwork, resilience, and dedication.
The final kilometre, led every runner to the finish line where a medal and a moment of pride awaited.
It’s important to recognize the thrilling competition among our colleagues who raced to secure their positions at the top of the leadboard! Bojidar Dimitrov claimed first place, crossing the finish line in an impressive 28:07. Just 9 seconds behind was Vladislav Atanasov, securing second place in a neck-and-neck finish. Aleks Ivanov rounded out the top three with a strong time of 29:51. Their determination and pace brought extra excitement to an already memorable day.
We were also honoured to welcome the actress Yana Marinova, who completed the course with us and finished 3rd among the women participants. Her energy, humour, and humanity left a lasting impression, and we’re proud she chose to support our cause.
This event was made possible through the dedication of several individuals who turned an idea into a reality. Among them is Konstantin Ivanov, Director of Casino Engineering at Amusnet, whose love for running and belief in the cause played a vital role in shaping every step of the event. His support and ideas helped elevate the initiative from the start of the project, and he remained actively engaged throughout the experience.
Another key figure was Hristo Tsvetkov, one of Bulgaria’s most respected ultramarathoners, known for completing Vitosha 100 in under 10 hours. Hristo held a lecture at our office and led two training sessions to help our colleagues prepare, build confidence, and enjoy the challenge to the fullest. Our team extends special thanks to Deyan Mladenov, Mayor of Zheleznitsa, whose support was crucial at every step in organizing the event.
The Amusnet Charity Run marks a strong beginning for our growing Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) culture. With this initiative, we show our support for sports and aim to motivate anyone who has the desire to try. It reminded us that even small efforts, when united by purpose, can lead to meaningful change. We hope this run is just the first step in a tradition that brings us together for years to come.
